Rostyslav Salamakha, a partner at Synegor Law Firm, has been included in the Rising Leaders 2026 ranking. The most compelling candidates were those backed by strong case histories, a notable contribution to teamwork, an increasing role and responsibility in projects, as well as consistent public and professional engagement that influences the market agenda.

The Ukrainian legal market is changing. And these changes are not always immediately apparent. They manifest themselves first and foremost in people, the emergence of new names, staffing decisions, and a rethinking of leadership. New firms are emerging on the market and quickly finding their niche. For the past two years, the editorial team at *Yurydychna Gazeta* has been researching the younger generation of Ukrainian lawyers.

The interest in *Rising Leaders 2026* confirmed that this focus was timely. The editorial team received 120 applications in this category. Law firms submitted their representatives’ profiles, including descriptions of case work, responsibilities on projects and professional activities. The quantity and quality of the submissions demonstrated that the legal market is ready to engage more broadly with the profession and is open to new names.

The shortlist comprises 60 lawyers from 47 law firms. Thirty-four firms are represented by a single nominee, whilst a further 13 firms are represented by two nominees. The gender breakdown of the shortlist shows a balance close to parity. The Rising Leaders list features 28 women and 32 men, reflecting the evolution of professional perceptions of leadership and norms of representation within the legal community.
